DC Teens: Progress & Promise
In the past ten years, the rate of teen pregnancy has dropped 50%. Significant progress has been made on the issue. Unfortunately this is not true for all wards of the city, and there are still pockets of Washington where the rate is unacceptably high.
This film takes on the challenge of showing the extraordinary progress that has been made. It acknowledges, however, that the prevention of an unplanned pregnancy has always been more than just that teen and that birth but about a network of issues related to youth development and overall economic health.
We also pose the question about whether any documented success could be replicated in communities where it has not been effective.
